Positive Signs is an Interpreting and Communication Services Agency concerned with giving you the opportunity to communicate effectively with deaf people by using our high quality and professional communication services at reasonable prices. These services are available to whether you are deaf, hearing, an individual, a local, national or international business or organisation.

To communicate effectively with the wide range of deaf people's needs, you may require, and we can first advise, then provide, British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters, Communication Support Workers (CSW ), Palantypists or Speech To Text Reporters (STTR) or Lipspeakers.  As a general rule, BSL interpreters are used by deaf people who use Sign Language.  Palantypists or STTRs provide electronic transcription services and are useful for those deaf or hard of hearing people who use English.  This group may also use Lipspeakers.  Some use a combination of these services.

These services are available to whether you are deaf, hearing, an individual, a local, national or international business or organisation. Prices start at £30.00 plus VAT with a minimum of three hours. We can discuss discounts for multiple bookings, if you have regular sessions booked ahead. 

Do contact us for advice.  This initial consultation will provide you with clear information about the communication services you may need along with details of funding sources that are available for the workplace such as Access to Work, a government-funded initiative for deaf people.

To complement the above, Positive Signs can provide customised training for your staff and colleagues to enable full interaction and engagement between deaf and hearing people in the workplace, at meetings or other event.  This includes Deaf Awareness training, how to use an interpreter or other communication service, and, basic sign language courses for the workplace.
